The VRneck SOLUTION – An innovative system for the diagnosis, therapy and training of functional disorders and injuries of the cervical and thoracic spine project is carried out by the consortium of the Medical University of Lodz and Edventure Research Lab Sp. z o.o.

The aim of the project is to develop a comprehensive and innovative solution using virtual reality and artificial intelligence methods to support diagnostics, therapy planning and monitoring the rehabilitation process of patients with functional disorders in the cervical spine, cervicocephalic and cervico-thoracic connections caused by diseases of the musculoskeletal system or injuries. The project plans to conduct a medical experiment involving 400 people and a clinical trial involving 200 patients. The aim will be to confirm the diagnostic and therapeutic effectiveness of the VRneck SOLUTION system, as well as to assess its safety and usefulness in therapy planning and monitoring the effectiveness of treatment.

The project responds to the needs in the field of quick, objective diagnosis of functional disorders of the cervical spine.
The reasons for its implementation are as follows: alarming epidemiological data on diseases of the musculoskeletal system and cervical spine pain syndromes, the problem of constantly lengthening queues waiting for diagnostics and treatments, a decreasing number of people able to work and a growing number of people with disabilities. In view of the limited access to rehabilitation, caused, inter alia, by the COVID-19 pandemic, significant acceleration of diagnostics and undertaking early individualized rehabilitation with the use of artificial intelligence will be a perfect complement to the currently available methods in the health care system.
